Clubs and Mentors

I.C.Y positively impact families and communities with the long term mentorship programme for abused and neglected children.

The mentorship programme for children 9-12 was developed to build resilience, values and trust. An adult mentor spends a minimum of 4 hours a month with a small group of mentees, building a strong caring relationship. The mentor being a significant adult in the mentees lives develops the values of caring, commitment, respect and responsibility in a safe encouraging environment.

The teens meet on a monthly basis for 3 hours, in small groups and discuss a variety of topics, allowing them to interact socially and talk about concerns they have. They are equipped with a variety of life skills, building self-esteem and self-confidence, developing their identity.
